Henna Decoration Activity to Help Zanzibar People

In this activity you will meet and be able to ask questions of the henna artist, who has lived all her life in Zanzibar and is a graduate of the Women Empowerment program who is starting her own business. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn about the history and significance of henna and also to meet someone who embraces and lives the culture.

Ending time is 3:30 pm (15:30)

• Learn about traditional henna – 30 min

• Application of henna hand decorations – 30 min

• Coffee break – 20-30 minutes

Are you looking for a very special souvenir to take home? You can't get more special than your own traditional henna hand decoration, appllied by an expert Zanzibar henna artist. You will also take home a deeper understanding of Zanzibar culture and the significance of the intricate designs.

Join this fun and interesting truly “hands-on” activity that teaches the history and significance of traditional henna decoration from ancient times. After the short class, choose your own beautiful henna design, which will be applied by an expert Zanzibar henna artist. When finished, stay for a discounted coffee, tea, or juice in the stylish coffee shop where the activity is held, and show off your beautifully decorated hand while the henna dries.
